Heading towards GREEN Energy, Renewable Energy, Zero Emission in Automotive Sector

 Dear Readers,

As you all are well aware, there are a lot of PHEV (Plug in Hybrid), BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle) fully electric on the road in Malaysia and the EV Charging infrastructure is getting prepared and moving all out in a fast paced to accommodate with the sharp growth of BEV /PHEV users in Malaysia.

Not only DCFC (Direct Current Fast Chargers) being installed at the route of West peninsular across the Petrol stations, AC Type 2 Chargers are being widely installed at residential homes and offices across Malaysia.

People are more aware on the current Electric vehicle in the market compared to 2 years back whereby everyone is questioning what is it about and all. Car manufacturers such as BMW, Mercedes Benz, BYD, Great Wall Motors, Nissan, Lotus, Jaguar, Bentley, Rolls Royce, Kia, Hyundai, Mazda, Audi and many more have their own EV Electrified models available for sale to end consumer.

As long as the installation work meet the spec of the ST (Suruhanjaya Tenaga) and the product used is with spec and high quality, then we will not need to worry if there's any issue that will occur to the EV Charger or towards the house. Take note, Do check the maximum load (Amperage) used for the said premise before setting it to the respective/ desired level of charging in kW.

For AC Chargers, there are few specs available in the market.

Single Phase - Max at 7.4kW

Three Phase - Max at 22kW or 11kW

As most of the owner wish to have a future proof therefore getting the max setting for using 22kW can be for future as most of the cars can only take in max at 11kW of charging speed due to the limitation of the car itself set by the manufacturer.

Different case for the DC charging towards the vehicle. Every car models will have a different take in (DCFC) towards the vehicle port ranging from 50kW to 180kW). So it really depends on how much your car can take in, To clear the doubt, if you are seeing bigger kW DC Charger, it doesn't mean that your car can take the max of it and faster charge the car.

That's all for now, will be continuing the new post when I am not tied up.

Signing Off,

JLean
