Servicing the Car @ Autozone Service Centre

One fine day, took the car over to Autozone Service Centre at Jalan SS23/11, Taman Sea and have a service due to the date of it is nearing and the approximate mileage is reaching the service point. So first of all, cool down my car with a huge fan blowing the engine then it is jet up and there goes the kick start of the service.

First of all, the engine oil filter is remove and the engine oil nut is taken out so the remaining of the engine oil will be flush out from the engine. After all the engine oil is drained off then it's time to replace a new Engine oil filter and also lock the nut of it so it won't drain off the new engine oil. Engine oil used during service is Idemitsu Semi Synthetic Engine Oil and from my experience, this oil really smooths the engine and it doesn't create a loud noise or having a noisy tapet sound while idling or driving.

Jet Up and preparing to service
Bardahl 2 Engine Oil Treatment

As you can see from the picture, it's Bardahl 2 engine oil treatment liquid where I used it for the first time to my ride there because I find my engine starts to clog in it so I better add some treatment to it to smooth out everything inside. Next service is going to be major makeover where I have to leave my car there for couple of days to have a Top overhaul and service. So after that, hopefully the engine will have a better fuel consumption and higher efficiency.

Pivot Voltage Stabilzer

Source From: Pivot Japan

History of Pivot Voltage Stabilzer
2003 - Pivot Raizin ( Blue )
2004 - Pivot Raizin Sound ( Grey )
2005 - Pivot Raizin Spark ( Yellow and Red )
2008 - Pivot Mega Raizin ( Purple )

Voltage Stabilizer
As you know, Mega Raizin has increased its capacity of the condenser three-fold ( Compare to Blue Raizin ) and decreased both circuitry noise & high frequency inpedance which result a more stable supply of voltage to all Electronic Devices, Better Gas mileage, and improved Torque & Audio Quality.

When engine Starts, it will shows the lowest voltage which is the 7.5V and the Real Voltage which is 13.8V then it shows for approximately a minute before it switches off in order to save the battery life time and to prevent the battery from dying. Figure below shows the process of starting the engine around 1 minute.

Judgment Method
With a new battery or near new battery check the lowest voltage at engine start, if the voltage is reduced by a given amount it is quite possible there is a loss in battery performance and the battery should be checked.

Zonda Tricolore Honours Flyboys

Source From: Star Motoring

MODENA (Italy): Sports cars and jet planes are a winsome double. They go together like burgers and fries.
Pagani Automobili has recently created the Zonda Tricolore to pay homage to the Italian Air Force aerobatics team.
The Frecce Tricolori (Italian, literally Tricolour Arrows), officially known as
the 313th Aerobatics Training Squadron, is a demonstration team based at Rivolto Air Force Base in Udine province.

They were formed in 1961 as an Air Force team, replacing previous teams that had been sponsored by various commands towards the end of the 1920s.

The team pilots the Aermacchi MB-339-A/PAN, a two-seat aircraft capable
of flying 898kph at sea level. It operates nine aircraft and a solo, the highest number of any aerobatics team in the world.
Apart from the details about the Zonda Tricolore that were mentioned in the lead picture, the 1,210kg supercar has a weight distribution of 47% front and 53% rear. The engine is mated to a six-speed Cima sequential gearbox and suspensions are cast in magnesium and titanium.
Carbo-ceramic Brembo brakes are capable of bringing the car's mixed Pirelli PZero tyres (front 19" and rear 20") to a quick stop from 200kph in a breathtaking 4.3s

Seoul to begin use of electric cars in 2011

Source From: Star Motoring

SEOUL: South Korea will begin mass production of electric vehicles next year, ahead of its earlier schedule, and provide financial support for government use to promote sales of emission-less vehicles, Yonhap news agency said Thursday.
The move comes as the country's top automaker, Hyundai Motor Co., together with its 43 suppliers and partner companies, completed the development of a compact electric vehicle, the BlueOn, two years ahead of their schedule.
The BlueOn is the world's second electric vehicle designed for mass production, following the i-MiEV of Japanese automaker Mitsubishi Motors Corp., according to the Ministry of Knowledge Economy.

President Lee Myung-bak test drives the BlueOn in the compound of the presidential house in Seoul today. - AP

The BlueOn, however, outperforms its Japanese rival in nearly all aspects as it can travel up to 140km after each recharge that takes six hours, compared to 130km for the i-MiEV, which takes seven hours to recharge.
Along with the development of the compact vehicle, the government believes the country will also be able to complete the development of a midsize electric vehicle for the start of mass production in 2014, three years ahead of an earlier schedule, the ministry said in a press release.
To promote the sales and use of electric vehicles, the government will shoulder up to 50% of additional costs for government offices to purchase electric vehicles instead of conventional vehicles that use fuels.
It will also work to increase the proportion of electric vehicles to 10% of annual sales of compact sedans in 2015 and 20 percent of all passenger car sales in 2020, by when it will also install 2.2 million battery rechargers throughout the nation, the ministry said.
"Given that electric vehicles are not a choice but a must for the automobile industry and that the governments of key industrialised nations, such as Japan, Germany and China, are taking aggressive steps to develop and promote electric vehicles, we need much more aggressive government measures" to promote the use and development of electric vehicles, the ministry said.

Lambo whets appetite

Source From: Star Motoring

PARIS: With a single teaser image, Lamborghini has set in motion a need to know among those following supercar goings-on.
Lamborghini said it will be revealing a new model at the upcoming Paris Motor Show, which it described as offering  the opportunity to "discover the way to the future of supersports cars".

Speculations are rife that this could be the Murcielago successor called Jota. It is rumoured that the Jota will get a  7.0-litre V12 direct injection engine cranking out 700hp and 700Nm of torque with  a top speed of 350kph. The 0-100kph sprint is expected to take 3 secs. All these performance is estimated  to cost around 350,000 euros (RM1.4mil).
On the other hand, media reports in the past have indicated that Lambo may downsize the engine in favour of using a lightweight and smaller aluminium spaceframe.
This is but the first of six teaser images that Lambo will issue in the run-up to the unveiling of the new model.

Better Quality of Biodiesel from Caltex

Source From: Star Motoring

Every oil company will tell you that their fuels are all the better because of the special additive they add to them. And so it goes.

While they are duking it out among themselves for market share, Chevron Malaysia included, a twist on the "my-additive-is-so-much-better" mantra is now applied to diesel instead of petrol.

This time, Chevron Malaysia is saying that its Caltex Diesel with Techron D aids in cleaner engines for improved performance.

Its research findings indicated that fuel injectors using Caltex diesel were 47% cleaner than those using the base diesel without an additive.

Engeler speaking about the benefits of using Caltex diesel.

Its engine tests also claimed 6% more power as a result of better injector deposit control. It also promised corrosion protection and produced 83% less foam and faster foam collapse time for faster refuelling.

However, the more interesting news to come out of Chevron Malaysia's media briefing on its product in Kuala Lumpur last Friday was its statement on how well its additive works with biodiesel that will be made available to the public from next year.

According to Chevron engineer Greg Engeler, B5 biodiesel works with its additive to exceed Original Equipment Manufacturers’ minimum injector cleanliness standards by more than 200%, improves injector flow by over 120%, protects against corrosion, and greatly reduces foam collapse time.

B5 is a blend of 5% biodiesel and 95% fossil fuel diesel.

While admitting that B5 biodiesel is more difficult to treat than conventional diesel, Engeler said the use of Techron D "produces dramatic improvements that provide cleaning power and reduced foaming."

The blending of biodiesel will result in higher cost of production, leading to the possibility that pump diesel may be sold at 4.5 sen more per litre.

However, The Star report last November pointed out that the government may backtrack on its B5 biodiesel programme, opting instead to use only 3% biodiesel.

This is because of the poor take-up rate by its initial target group - the diesel-powered government vehicles in the Klang Valley.

FREE inspections from Puspakom !!

Source From: Star Motoring

Here's a freebie that should come in handy for those in need of a check-up for their vehicles.
Puspakom Sdn Bhd, the Malaysian computerised vehicle inspection centre, is offering free inspections for all private cars and motorcycles in what it declares as part of its social responsibility.
The free inspection started today and will go on until Sept 9.
"The total inspection of vehicles will be carried out by authorised Puspakom staff," said Puspakom in a statement.
The free service came a day after an announcement that the Damansara-Puchong Highway toll operator will be opening up its route for one day on National Day.
This is the first time the operator has agreed not to charge toll.
In the announcement on Sunday, Works Minister Datuk Shaziman Abu Mansor also said that other toll road operators are offering discounts tomorrow.
Those travelling in cars along the North-South Expressway, the Seremban-Port Dickson Highway, Elite Expressway and the Second Link Expressway from midnight to 7am on Aug 31 and Sept 1 will enjoy a 20% discount. At present, they get a 10% discount.

Fake Proton spare part dealers found out !!

Source From: Star Motoring

Several dealers in Sarawak are selling fake Proton spare parts by sticking the original hologram label on them to fool customers.

Domestic trade, cooperative and consumerism ministry (Sarawak chapter) director Wan Ahmad Uzir Wan Sulaiman said the tactic was discovered during a joint operation mounted by the ministry's enforcement officers and representatives of Proton Holding Bhd.

In the operation on Thursday, six business premises in Kuching were identified as selling fake spare parts, he told a press conference on Friday.

During the operation, an assortment of Proton spare parts worth RM7,000 were also seized.

Wan Ahmad said, despite using the original hologram label, the bar code used by the fake spare part dealers was however, different from that of Proton. - Bernama
