BASIC Maintenance TIPS during MCO period in MALAYSIA [Applicable to all countries]

Dear Readers,

We know life's hard with the current MCO (Movement control Order)/ PKP (Perintah Kawalan Perjalanan) being enforced by the goverment whereby each individual is advisable to stay at home unless it's a necessary for one personnel from the household to get the necessary essentials.

Do take note MCO stands for Movement Control Order and not "MUST COME OUT". Don't get it wrong. If you owned a vehicle or more. But you can only used it during the necessary time. Do take note on this few tips to save you the $$.

TIPS:
1. Get the car started even if you are not driving it out "ONCE" every 3 days for 15-20mins. The reason of this is because the battery of your car will have some current leak and don't forget the car is attached with the electronic devices such as Alarm System, Dash Cam ( Unplug it if not in use as some brands has a 24/7 on function which eventually drain the battery without you knowing. ).

2. Get the tyre pumped. This is because from time to time, there will be air leaking out from the tyre of yours neither it's new or it has been used for awhile. Air may leaks due to puncture/nail and etc but most commonly and undetected is from the air valve tube. So get the pressure to the tyre more since it's going to be there for quite awhile so lifting the car away from the surface more is better than getting it stagnant.

3. Lift up the Wiper Holder. Most of the commonly used Wipers for most of the cars are standard original rubber type. Even if you have replaced it with the aftermarket ones which are the silicone type. Do lift it up so it won't be stagnant too long on the windshield/Windscreen of the car. Not all the car are parked indoor so no harm lifting it up even if it's parked indoor.

4. Put up Sun Shades. Putting up sun shades for the car is good to preserve the dashboard condition of the car and also reduce the heat / IR /UV entering the vehicle. As the technology goes more advance, Items seems to be more renewable/biodegradable, so some nice and expensive cars are already adapting to the Bio-Degradable material for their components for their interiors. Some may know the brands but I wouldn't want to let know the brand as you can search it easily and not harming the brand's reputation.

There are more tips to be shared. But this are the common ones that can be easily done by all.

Signing off.

Thanks,
JLean
